Description

PVC vinyl is the default material for outdoor banners — and it has a real environmental problem. At end of life, PVC releases toxic chlorine compounds in landfill and incineration. If your business has ESG commitments, sustainability reporting requirements, or simply wants to avoid the optics of PVC waste, our TPO banner is the specification to reach for. TPO — Thermoplastic Olefin — is a PVC-free, chlorine-free substrate engineered specifically as a direct replacement for banner vinyl. Our 12 oz TPO uses a four-layer bonded construction that matches or exceeds the dimensional stability, print quality, and outdoor durability of standard PVC. It is landfill-safe and contains no halogens, phthalates, or heavy metal stabilizers. Rated for 5 years of continuous outdoor exposure. UV-cured inks lock color for the full rated life. Heat-welded hems and brass grommets on all four sides as standard. Any custom size up to 120 inches wide. NFPA 701 fire-rated. Starting at $5.49/sq ft. Documentation available on request for sustainability reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard PVC contains chlorine and is stabilized with heavy metals or phthalates. When PVC reaches landfill or incineration, it releases toxic chlorine compounds. TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) is a chlorine-free, halogen-free polymer — it doesn't release toxic by-products at end of life and is mechanically recyclable in some facilities. We can supply an environmental data sheet for sustainability reporting if needed.
No. Our 12 oz TPO has a 5-year outdoor durability rating with UV-cured inks — the same or better than our standard outdoor vinyl. The four-layer construction provides equivalent dimensional stability and resistance to tearing, humidity, and UV degradation. The material passes NFPA 701 fire testing, same as our PVC products.
Yes, it's a direct drop-in replacement for standard outdoor vinyl. Building exteriors, construction hoardings, retail signage, event banners, trade show displays, street poles — all standard applications work. The one difference is a slightly narrower operating temperature ceiling (+176°F vs. higher for some PVC grades), which only matters for enclosed dark-colored signage in extreme desert conditions.
Yes. We can supply a material safety data sheet (MSDS), product environmental declaration, and a material composition certificate confirming PVC-free, halogen-free status. Contact our team before ordering to request these documents.
At $5.49/sq ft it's competitively priced alongside our standard outdoor vinyl — and compared to US specialty print vendors charging $10–15/sq ft for eco materials, we're typically still at half the market rate. You get environmental responsibility without a premium price tag.
