Vinyl has its place — but walk any major trade show, exhibition hall, or corporate event and you'll notice the booths that look truly polished are fabric. Our dye-sublimated fabric banner is the choice when presentation quality, portability, and reusability matter as much as the message itself.
Dye-sublimation is fundamentally different from inkjet or UV printing — gas-phase dye bonds directly into the polyester fibers rather than sitting on top as a film. The result is color that is scuff-proof, fade-resistant, and soft to the touch. Fold it, stuff it in a bag, ship it across the country, hang it, wash it, repeat. The image survives.
We offer two polyester weights: our 3.5 oz knitted polyester delivers a lightweight flag-style drape ideal for pole pocket displays and hanging banners. Our 6 oz display polyester is denser, more opaque, with a refined matte surface that photographs beautifully and hangs taut in fabric frame systems (SEG-ready with optional silicone edge at no extra charge).
Both weights are machine washable (cold, gentle cycle). Starting at $6.99/sq ft — typically a third to half the price of comparable fabric display from US trade show vendors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Dye-sublimation uses heat to convert solid dye into gas, which then bonds permanently into the polyester fibers. Unlike inkjet, there is no ink film sitting on the surface of the fabric — the color is part of the fiber itself. This means the print is completely scuff-proof (it cannot be scratched or peeled), it feels like fabric rather than coated paper, and it survives machine washing without fading. The color gamut is also exceptionally wide, producing the vivid, saturated results fabric displays are known for.
The 3.5 oz knitted polyester is a lighter, slightly translucent fabric with a soft drape — ideal for hanging banners, flags, pole pocket displays, and applications where the banner needs to move or hang loosely. The 6 oz display polyester is denser, more opaque, and hangs with a flat, taut surface — it's our best-seller for trade show booths, backdrop walls, and SEG (silicone edge graphic) frame systems. If you're unsure, 6 oz is the right default for most trade show and event applications.
These fabric banners are engineered primarily for indoor use — trade shows, exhibitions, retail environments, corporate events. The dye-sublimation inks are UV-stable for short outdoor exposure (outdoor events, covered patios) but are not rated for extended continuous outdoor use like our vinyl products. For outdoor applications, we recommend our vinyl banners (PRT-PB-003) or mesh (PRT-PB-004).
SEG stands for Silicone Edge Graphic. It's a system where a thin silicone strip is sewn into the edge of the fabric, and that strip inserts into a grooved aluminum frame profile — creating a perfectly flat, frameless-looking display with no visible mounting hardware. We include the silicone edge finishing free on 6 oz display polyester orders. You'll need a compatible SEG frame (sold separately or available through your exhibit house).
Fabric banners ship folded in polybags — fold lines will be visible when you first unpack. In our experience, 95% of fold creases relax out within 5–15 minutes once the banner is hung under its own weight. For the rare stubborn crease, a light steam from 6 inches away will eliminate it completely. No ironing required.
